So there I was.. a migraine starting to form as I struggled to figure out a way to unify a palette across a shit load of images for some animations in an upcoming project.. but.. how? After sighing and giving up and sailing the seas of google for what seemed like an eternity, I'd find a lead only to find they either went out of business or simply disappeared (fucking 404's)..
Then weeks later I found a lead that while also down, I did manage to find a working mirror, gotta love it when someone doesn't make an index file.. lol
yup, dumpster diving into someone's defenseless default index.html revealed this gem.
Palette Merger!!!
This lovely gem will batch load a ton of bmps and force them to share a master palette of your choosing! It also supports other images and color depths, but I can confirm that 8-bit bmp files work flawlessly! w00t!!
On another note, any uber-useful programs written by someone else, whether they are still around or not, I will post them in a specially marked awesome_code folder for special 'hardcore dabooda' freaks out there with ftp permissions..
or just stay tuned watch this thread for other links..
download palette merger 3.0
if a certain brother of mine would be kind enough to post some gems he has found made by others (particularly if the program's page is 404'd) into the awesome_code folder, and post a link in this thread that would be really uber also! ^_^
I hope this helps out folks who are trying to tie their animations/images to the same palette.. l8trz _________________ There are 10 kinds of people, those who can read binary and those who can't.. ^_^ |
